I am going out on a tangent here, and I hope I do not offend anyone that I call a friend.
I am upset, sickened, angry for what I see happening in OUR country today.
We are the one Nation in the World known for the peaceful process of the changing of leaders.
In 2008 Barack Obama was elected and the Republicans and Conservatives never took to the street to riot and what we have occurring is riots. When people start blocking highways and roadways, loot, burn and confront the Police, it has devolved into anarchy, chaos and riots.
When President Obama was elected in 2008 the conservatives and the Republicans were upset, but never once was there this type of violence and in my opinion stupidity.
President Obama did not have an issue reinforcing the legitimacy of his Presidency.
This is quote from President Obama:
Transcript: President Obama’s Oct. 17 remarks on the budget deal published October 17, 2013.
“You don’t like a particular policy or a particular president? Then argue for your position. Go out there and win an election. Push to change it. But don’t break it. Don’t break what our predecessors spent over two centuries building. That’s not being faithful to what this country’s about.”
Feb. 25, 2010: Looks like old feuds die hard: After a long statement from Sen. John McCain about health care, President Obama cut off his 2008 opponent by saying, “the election is over,” and McCain’s talking points weren’t relevant. “I’m reminded of that every day,” McCain rejoined bitterly.
In light of how divided as a country we were at that time, never once was there the call for “Revolt” as seen today, if you do not believe me, just look at any news report and see the signs carried by the rioters.
The Right Wing Party, the Conservatives, the Republicans all said President Obama would dismantle the Constitution by revoking the Second Amendment, in fact I think President Obama was the Countries best gun salesman! But never once were there riots and calls for overthrowing our Government.
There are rules and Laws to prevent that or at the least make it an extremely long and difficult process, as planned by Our Founding Fathers.
The Right Wing, the Conservatives, the Republicans all showed tolerance, often accompanied by grumblings. But there were never the riots and lawlessness demonstrated today.
The Left Wing, the Liberals, the Democrats, where is the tolerance and compassion you demand, but fail to offer to those that oppose your views?
The Left Wing, the Liberals, the Democrats, why do you oppose the results of an election, if you want to win do as President Obama stated, “You don’t like a particular policy or a particular president? Then argue for your position. Go out there and win an election. Push to change it. But don’t break it. Don’t break what our predecessors spent over two centuries building. That’s not being faithful to what this country’s about.”
The Left Wing, the Liberals, the Democrats, do your part, work together, be tolerant, but please, please stop trying to break what our predecessors spent over two centuries building. That’s not being faithful to what this country is about!
The Left Wing, the Liberals, the Democrats, stop the fear mongering as presented by the Right Wing, the Conservatives, the Republicans. Guns were not confiscated or banned, there are Laws and regulations to prevent that, just as the advances in social justice and tolerance are now protected by Laws and Regulations.
There will not be mass deportations.
Equal Rights will be maintained.
Abortions will not be banned.
Same Sex Marriage shall not be banned. I hate the term S.S.M. as marriage is about the heart, not genitals,
Islam will not be banned.
Legal immigration shall continue as this is how a diversified and vibrant community is developed. But assimilation into the current society is a must, as has been done in generations past. People have lost the desire to be American, wanting to bring into this Country what they sought to escape.
Let all the people of this Great Land come together as One.
Let tolerance reign Supreme.
As Oprah said in an interview with ET Nov. 11, 2016:
“To hear President Obama say that he has renewed confidence in the peaceful transition, I think everybody can take a deep breath,” she continued. “Everybody can take a deep breath now! Thank you.”
Let everyone take that deep breath, and regain composure.
We are America.
