We, as believers, should have a voice that resonates with God’s love, compassion, and redemption. But will we utilize this voice properly? Or will we, instead, use it for sinful desires? Will we use it for selfish ambitions? Will we use it for vain pursuits? Proverbs 31:8-9 provides some incredible indicators of how to achieve social integrity and justice. It flows out of a desire to stand up for the marginalized and downtrodden. It flows out of practicing virtue and divinely-communicated moral standards. It flows out of observing laws that are fair and sound. It flows out of assisting the poor and needy. This is but a sampling of how believers can honor the Lord, and help foster a community flourishing with decency, faith, and hope. So let us be a fellowship of devoted people committed to serving the Lord and making a significant difference in the world. Let us use our voice in a way that resonates with God’s love, compassion, and redemption.
Proverbs 31:8-9 “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.’’ (NIV)
