America’s present need is not heroics but healing; not nostrums but normalcy; not revolution but restoration;… not surgery but serenity. The war had changed many things at home. Manufacturing in the country had increased tremendously in the war which had the U.S. as the head of the world industrial leader and the U.S. economy was booming, although; inflation has now increased and companies are now having to lay off many employees and reduce wages to operate costs. America put everything into the war and now the results are showing. I will do everything I can for my country, which is why I shall run for the Republican party in this election of 1920. “Return to Normalcy,” will be my slogan, because I believe that I can revert the U.S. back to the land of big business and lowering the U.S. tariffs. My beloved heartland shall not rest until my fellow peers are content in their homes.
