Brilliant News!!

My (Mitral) heart valve, has closed: after years of being the ‘hole in the heart,’ girl, that hole has finally closed…. but I’m NOT sure that it’s due to the use of  medications!!? I’ve had this condition since I was a kid, but it hadn’t begun to bother me until I hit menopause!! It never rains but it pours, eh? I couldn’t JUST go through menopause: I had to get heart failure due to a malfunctioning Mitral valve, as well!

I have been aware of this heart problem since I was 38 yrs old, but it did not begin to affect my energy levels and overall health until I after I had married my beautiful shagggy-dog husband, and reached the ripe old age of 43 yrs!

I am Soooooo…… grateful that the valve has healed, without having had surgery, just a small fistful of specific meds and a Whole Lot Of Prayer!! … … 80% of that healing is due to the Love of this beautiful man who lives with me, loves me and cares for me, literally. He cooked, cleaned the house, showered me, laundered my clothes, shopped etc….for me, for eight (8) months after I was sent home from hospital to die a dignified death!!?

…………. and Now, as it happens – my valve has righted itself; I am so grateful to Niels, my HF specialist who has been on my case since he got over his anger with the surgeons in Wellington for Not operating when he had sent me to Wellington hospital especially for the operation! I am So impressed with his ability to let go of his irritation and continue to treat me with efficiency and good humour.

Thank you Lord!

Emmi

  1. Hi, thanx 4 your note: I’ve been here 4 a handful of months. I like it because it’s so easy to put up photos. Anyway – Welcome to GN Journal. Hope you enjoy as much as I do. 😉 Emmi

  2. Congratulations, that is wonderful news. God answers prayers. I believe that deep in my heart. I have lupus and don’t know from day to day what I’ll wake to. My husband is just like yourself. He is the most loving, caring and compassionate man I have ever met. He takes care of Mr when I can’t. It’s a blessing. I’m rather new on here and so far I love it. Again, Congrats and continue to take care of yourself and love your hubby. God bless.
