Today I’m finally going to get a replacement for my grey metal mechanical pencil that has so faithfully stayed by my side for more than two years. It’s still good to use, but the spring and the metal body have fallen apart and need to be taped up. But when it’s taped it gets jammed and then I have to take off the tape and un-jam it and THEN retape it, so I guess it’s about time to get a new one. I could have bought a new one the moment this one started acting all wonky, but I just didn’t have the heart to replace it while it was still functioning. I love this kind of pencil because it’s cold and heavy and feels really THERE in my fingers when I’m writing or just twirling (twirling my pens and pencils is a nervous habit I picked up as a result of testing season when I was in 7th and 8th). I hate using those cheap plastic mech pencils because they’re so light and they break easily. I also like the feeling of REAL pencils that need to be resharpened, but mostly I love my metal ones. It may sound odd, but whatever.

There really isn’t anything else to say today. Hmm, well, I keep looking up the price of steampunk clothes and jewelry online. I love those gears and goggles and beautiful clothes. Oh yes, and skeleton keys are gorgeous. Once I saw this amazing metallic heart-shaped necklace online for 140 RMB, which is roughly $20. It was SO beautiful. Plus, I searched up where the Hollister and Abercrombie & Fitch stores are in Hong Kong. Both are really expensive stores–my sister used to love them, so I know–and they seem even more expensive in China. But I really love this dark blue white-moose-print backpack they had one year and just their clothes in general. I guess it’s because I like their dark colors. It’s a pity that they don’t seem to actually sell shoes–like real shoes and not sandals. I don’t really like wearing sandals, even in summer.

I wish I had another dragon fruit to eat right now…I’m really thirsty. I just had a few pieces of a dragon fruit and it was really good. It may not have a really sour or really sweet or really strong taste, but I still really like it. Maybe I’ll just have some more candy instead.

Also, I’ve been thinking of putting some short stories online instead of just journals. Maybe it’ll give me some more practice as a writer in general. I really feel like I need it.

Anyway, have a happy weekend my friends, and don’t forget to have tons of fun before it’s Monday again!

  1. I think it’s awesome if you start writing short stories TOO. (TOO because I forbid you to stop writing journals 😉 ). I have tried several times but I always find myself unhappy with the ending. If you are going to try it, I’m really interested to see them! 🙂

  2. Looking forward to seeing the short stories! It is fun to have clothes you like, even if it is one or two things. It is a way of expressing who you are.
