The day I learnt to lose

At some point in your life, you have to come to terms with the fact that you cannot get along with everyone.

Now I’m not sure if that would come as a surprise for someone who’s generally a witch they forgot to burn. But people who are usually quick to make friends, get on nicely with just about everyone, are great to talk to and are great listeners might sometimes run into that special breed of Nasty that should be taken around town for a ride on the back of a mad cow and basically just be killed, or hanged or set on fire or all of them.

People like Gollum’s Sidekick should not be even on my mind. If people like her, who have a meanness of heart and manner second only to Hitler, can learn to give a spinal anesthesia, then I, with all my good intentions and determination to one day be a great professor of Anesthesia *cough* can certainly do so.

I am proud of myself for not having risen to her bait today. I am proud of myself for not letting my valleys dive to an unreachable low, of responding to the situation and not reacting to it.

I am proud of myself for coming back from a day of being humiliated and called incompetent, and still finding in my heart to say Alhamdulillah.

Good night, and good luck.
