The mirror’s reflection

The mirror can’t show my happiness, the mirror can’t show my joy. The mirror can’t show my anger, or what I’m fighting for. The mirror can’t show my love for you, that is always sure. The mirror can’t show my injuries, the inner battles I have endured. It can only show the outside, a part or two of me. There is however more I wish for you to see. I am more than this mirror’s reflection of me. I wish you could see past what it shows of me. I wish you could see my inside, the reflection I long for you to see. I wish you could see past my shadows, past this darkness, big like the sea. I wish you could see past my appearance, these scars are not me. I wish you could see my real face, the inside one by my heart, the one that is free. I wish however impossible, that you see the things inside. There is for me only wishing, like the wish for you by my side. Perhaps one day my wish will no longer be, just a wish for you to see the real me.
