Joy of Owning Pets

There just might be something about cuddling with kittens that warms the cockles of your heart. Cuddling with mine (well, they’re not exactly kittens anymore but it seems like just yesterday they fit in my palm with their little eyes closed and their high-pitched tiny meows), brings me such joy. I love my cats, Chloe and Teki, and love pets in general. Last month I was searching avidly for a parrot. Birds have always been a favorite of mine and so fascinating to me. I used to own parakeets; unfortunately, they didn’t like me as much as I liked them. But I am thankful for the opportunity to own pets in America and to have ways, like the vet, of making sure they are healthy. I also feed them a mostly homemade diet, with ground bones, peas, and oats and water combined with a little dry food that contains carrots, brown rice, other veggies, some meat, and many other vitamins. Cats mostly don’t bond with their owners like dogs do, so in that way I wish I had a dog, but I love my cats dearly and I am very thankful for them. Sometime in my lifetime, I hope to get a dog but for now, my cats are very low maintenance and don’t hiss at me so I’m happy 🙂
