It was just a normal day at the grocery store, the supervisor had just given me my break and I was going down the stairs heading to the employee’s local. As soon as I entered, I saw him. He was taking his break too. We talked a little and then he left. As I was opening my locker and taking my lunch, I heard a voice calling out my name. It was him. He looked very shy but still managed to ask me out on a coffee date. It went as follows:
-Yeah?, I asked, smiling back at him
-Do you have something to do after work? I know your shift ends at 8:30 and mine at 8:00 so I wouldn’t mind waiting for you and we could go get a coffee and lean more about each other?
-Yeah, sure! It sounds nice!
-Nice I didn’t think you say yes. I’ll be waiting for you in front of the store righ after your shift.
-Ok, I said, smiling again.
He then left and I started dancing a victory dance. I was so happy that during my shift I kept telling my clients about it and they were all happy and excited for me.
After my shift, I went downstairs, took my stuff and went outside. There he was, in a grey T-shirt and black pants waiting for me. I felt a little embarrassed for not changing into other clothes, but I never really bothered with it before because I live a street away from work. We went into a coffee shop and ordered. As I was about to pay my share, he stopped me and paid for both of us. I was surprised because no one ever did that for me. I was undeniably charmed.
We then walked to a central park just in front of the store where people were talking and sitting on rock Benchs. We sat and started talking about everything we liked or disliked. Strangely, we liked the same things. Video games, anime, mangas, rock music, Celtic music, etc. It was like a dream come true. Then what must happen unfortunately happened. My parents called me and were wondering where I was. His parents called him too for the same reason so we had to leave. We then kissed each others cheeks and left, but not before I asked him his phone number. Later that night I texted him how a great night it was and that I would gladly like to see him again.
