Iv’e been struggling with self harm since i was 13. I’m now 20 years old and have been clean for 2 years. Throughout those 2 years iv’e wanted to relapse a few times…its kind of a day to day process sometimes. I know self harm is a very common thing and i want to share some of the substitutes that helped me.
- Drawing a picture on that area that you want to self harm on.
- Wear rubber bands on your wrist and when you feel the urge to self harm gently tug on it.

- Writing in a journal.
- Draw lines on the area that you would self harm on. ( Very similar to the first substitute)
