Covering the front desk for lunch today. Pinch hitting.  Haven’t done this in years. Hope the phone doesn’t actually ring hahaha!. I used to think myself above this. Such an asshole I was. I happily volunteered to do it today. You get what you give. Trying to teach my kids that lesson. When they don’t want to share, I don’t reprimand them, I just gently remind them that you get what you give.

It was a good weekend. I had a really good run on Sat AM with my friend that ran the 1/2 with me. Both of us were so happy to be running in better weather! It was chilly, but the sun was out and no snow, hail, wind! Sunday we went to my inlaws.  It is MIL and SIL’s birthdays today and tomorrow. Celebrated with them and my SIL’s inlaws as well. Her MIL has Alzheimer’s and asks the same things over and over.  Everyone is great with her – just gently reminds her of where she is and who she is with. Sweet lady.  My FIL – what can I say? A prisoner in his own body. Very sad. He’s not happy. But he’s done nothing to help himself.  I am ever thankful for my health and for the continued good health of my nearly octogenarian mom and dad. I spoke with mom this morning – she joined the gym my dad has been going to for about 2 years. Thankgod! She said “doctor’s orders!”.  So glad she is following them.  She’s using the treadmill and the bike and one strength machine. She said she feels better already. 🙂

Work’s the same. Blah, blah, blah….Thats’ all I have to say about that.

One of my 2 old dogs may be ready to cross the rainbow bridge. We are sad about it, but he’s 14 and his health is declining. It’s so hard. Especially having to explain it to the kids. But it’s what we sign up for when we take them in as pups. The 15 year old is still doing ok. Just lame in the hind end. Not in any pain thankfully.

  1. Glad you had a good weekend. Especially nice to hear your folks are doing well. They are such a treasure! Yes work is mostly blah, blah, blah. I don’t envy you front desk duty. Dang I used to have to do that in various offices. The thing is receptionists have a much tougher job than folks give them credit for. Glad now I just type!
