I’m not quite sure why I am writing this, I just feel like I should. It won’t be very eloquent or fun to read but I feel if I have it written down maybe it will be an extra motivator. My fiancé and I are on a mission to better ourselves. These past couple of years we moved into an apartment, which made us slightly seditary (except for work of course). He gained a lot of weight with our eating habits and not doing much outside of work, I think it has dampened who we were and can be. Our attitudes have been more negative, life just doesn’t seem as bright. We have three young children and we are not giving them very good examples on how to live. To much junk food and not enough exercise, also not really doing any community things. So by this time next year we want to have kicked junk food out of our lives. At one point we were the fun family to be around, and we would love to get back to that. So me, let’s do this. No more junk food, no more excuses. Fruits and veggies at every meal, stay away from processed crap. He has done very good this last few weeks and me giving in consistently isn’t helping. My will power has been drained and it makes me disappointed in myself. We plan on buying a home soon, and with that comes extra work I have to do this for me, for my kids, and for my fiancé. They deserve to see me try my hardest even when it’s easier to say no lets just order a pizza and stay home. When I am at my best the family follows my lead. It’s time to return to myself.
Short term goals
- 3 days a week no meat dinners
- at least one fruit and one veggie at every meal
- we don’t need fast food every week
- family walk every day, even if it’s just a short one
- leave the house every day off, again even if it’s just a short time it’s better than nothing
- Quit smoking
- Buy that house
- My drivers license
- sign up for a marathon and get it done as a family
It won’t be easy and it won’t happen over night, but stop looking at right now stop making it easy on yourself. You owe it to these kids, to yourself to your fiancé. Just remember what you do today can improve all of your tomorrows. You only fail when you stop trying. You have to fight through your bad days in order to earn your best. If we change these things our attitudes can and will become more positive.
