Today I chose to take a 45 minute walk around my area where I will be surrounded by people rather than in a lonely park. My confidence has definitely grown since beginning this three week program. I was able to walk around my area with out shying away and feeling self-conscious when walking past passer-bys. I really took in the surroundings of my area and the types of people that lived in my area. I discovered new shops and a lively, enjoyable environment. After completing my walk I felt really good mentally and physically. I was full of energy even though I had just completed my walk and I noticed my mood was very much uplifted. This is definitely a technique to reduce stress and anxiety and improve my mood that I will be continuing on a regular basis after this three week program is finished.
