Ok, so it has been 2 weeks tomorrow, since Mike and I went vegan!! Yay!
Let me tell you about some things that we have gone through..
Detoxing can be rough but when you think about the animals you are saving, it makes it that much easier to cope with! The first detox I went through was acne. Let me tell you, I was breaking out in the spots I usually break out the worst in! Now, 2 weeks later & I am still having the acne detox, but it is getting so much better. I believe Mike and I are still both in the bathroom detox phase. Because you are eating what your body was designed to eat, your body now needs to get rid of the junk left behind. The only way to do this, bowl movements. Now, TMI here, but we both have experienced a black BM. Do not freak out if this happens to you, this is just the excess meat left in your intestinal tract. See, us humans have intestines that are 12-15 times the length of our body!! Carnivores & Omnivores only have intestines that are 3-7 times the length of their body. This mean that us humans cannot digest the meat properly even when it is cooked, it takes far too long and ends up sitting in our colons and that’s how cancer occurs. Eating meat is a primary cause for colon cancer. Just some info for you to think about!
Now, where was I?
Detoxing. I’ve had the occasional headache & craving from time to time, but I know that’s by body’s way of telling me I need food!! I need protein or carbs depending on what I am craving. Mike and I are trying very hard to do 80/10/10 (carbs/protein/fat) but I just love my fats too darn much! I am doing it this way to lose weight and be at a healthy BMI as well as just a healthy weight in general for my age and height! Its been a little more difficult because of all the fatty foods I like! Let me know if you’d like to see what we normally eat in a day, or I will just go ahead and do a blog about that soon!
