With the cool, softness of October air my soul stirs and sighs. I can not be contained indoors. Wanderlust sets in, my skin itches, and like a dog freed from its leash I set off in exploration.
I’ve always felt more balanced when I am surrounded by pure Earth. The more man leaves his mark, the more overwhelmed I become. I like things basic, simple, uncomplicated. Water trickling along the river, rushing over smooth flat rocks is a song that fills me. I love the sweet smell of pine and sap.
I wish I could live in a small cottage deep in a forest. I wish things like facebook did not exist. The more we create, the more we lose touch with what is real.
I love family. I love taking my kids deep in the woods. I love walking with them along dirt paths. We are left with nothing but ourselves and the Earth. To me, this is time well spent.
Bobo uses a walking stick. I think he makes a game of it. Bobo, the great wizard is off on a quest across the Earth in search of that perfect moment, when we arrive at our destination. It is there that we share a meal, a drink of crisp water, a tale, and a smile.
I live in the here and now. My actions and words will one day be memories. I want these memories to be flashes of comfort on rainy days when we hurt.
I live to love and love to live.
