Journal Entry 1

Why does no one journal anymore?

I think it is possibly because we all fear others reading our deepest and most private thoughts. A journal is so physical and personal.

So why am I sharing this with you?

Sometimes it is nice to know that at least one person is out there who knows. If you are anything like me you hate keeping everything in your world to yourself. Talking things over with someone helps you. Isn’t this at least the next best thing. For all I know, no one will ever read this.

I’m not a writer. I have never been too fond of it. Too much grammar and structure to it all. That’s what makes journaling appealing, there is no structure. I could sit here with all the sentence fragments my mind could think up and you can’t stop me. So there.

If you are reading, I hope you enjoy.

Lots of love,

  1. Plenty of us journal on a daily basis, but I think some people avoid it much for the same reason aforementioned – they assume they have to be a writer in order to maintain a journal. The point of having one however really is to let our deepest secrets out and that is what I do much like many others. I also think some don’t journal for the mere fact that they feel they won’t have enough time to do it. Personally, I feel it is soulfully freeing. All of us have things in our pasts we regret and we have secrets and are maybe even ashamed of something that is otherwise not a real big deal. By sharing some of that anonymously and getting feedback from people who are probably in the same boat … we can then release some of that anxiety from ourselves and move on. I hope you continue to journal and find it as beneficial as I do.
