My plans for Christmas

Here in Japan, the way we celebrate Christmas is very different from Western countries.

First, it is not a national holiday so we go to school or work. It happens to be that Christmas day falls into Sunday this year so we can stay at home.

Second, We do stuff on Eve not on the 25th. As far as food goes, people eat KFC chicken and strawberry shortcakes.

Third, like Western people, we don’t exchange presents much for Christmas. Parents get some to their children. They put them on the bed so kids can find out as they wake up.I would get some money when I was a kid… and which is not strange here.

Lastly, it is not a day to spend with their family. It is more for a couple, like Valentine’s day. Young people hook up temporary for this season because they don’t want to be lonely..

As for me,I don’t do any of those. I find all of them odd. At the other hand, I don’t celebrate the Western way either. My husband ‘s company is closed this year so I will be with him but we don’t have any plans. There might be some Christmas singing at a park or a church so we might go there to see.. I have asked him to make some pasta for that day. Why pasta is because that is all he can make decently.. haha 🙂

Even though I don’t do much for Christmas personally, I like this holiday season. I like the atmospheres. It puts me in a good mood. 🙂

Hope all of you have a happy holiday~!
