Dear Diary?

I wasn’t very old the first time I read “The Diary of Anne Frank”. It inspired me to start writing myself. For the next 10-15 years I wrote almost every single day. Filling notebook after notebook with my thoughts and feelings. I ended up having a large box filled with these notebooks.

A few years ago I decided to get rid of them all. A decision that I don’t regret at all. I do miss writing a journal, though. I often think about starting again, but I just can’t think of anything to write. I just sit and stare at the blank page with a pen in my hand.

So I thought perhaps an online journal is the way to go, so here I am…

  1. uhh…. you got rid of 10-15 years of thoughts, ideas, and memories? They can be bad memories for sure, terrible even, but that’s a lot of person to throw away… I cherish every entry I’ve made, having started around 7 years ago, none of those entries on this website.

Just reading through a few of them bring me back to those days. The problems I had at the time, the accomplishments I made at the time, the friends I talked to, and the thoughts I had. I would have just locked up those memories away in the attic or back of the closet if they were really bad, but I couldn’t have brought myself to throw them away.

Maybe you don’t regret it. But now it seems like you want to start writing again. Here is a new life for you with new memories and entries to make.
