Today’s readings ask us to believe in God, whether we can see, touch or feel him. He is always there and we have faith in our belief.
“Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed”.
Have I ever questioned God’s existance? So many times. The ideas we are taught to believe sometimes just don’t add up, don’t make sense, don’t fit in with the evolution of the world.
Yet, I believe. And I have reasons to question? Wondering why things happen when there is a higher being who could protect us. But we are given free will, and with that our judgment is sometimes clouded and our path unclear.
I’ve also seen miracles. People who survive against the odds, live another day, have a child, are saved in an accident and are in the right place at the right time.
So I choose to believe, not because it’s what I was taught, but because in my soul, it feels right. I know I have been saved more than once, and not of my free will; of a power greater than me who asks me to have faith….and I do.
