Gymnastics can be a physically punishing sport. I have not really had a break since before Christmas and it is starting to catch up to me both physically and mentally. My right knee feels absolutely horrible and it has for a while now.
For once, I think I am going to take a week off for some much needed healing and space from sport. I’ve decided to do a week long meal prep based off of vegan dietary journals. I will still be consuming non vegan protein, however this will mainly come from powder based sources as I don’t think going cold turkey is a wise decision at this point. My vitamin, mineral, etc supplementation will continue as normal for now as I need everything I can get to properly heal.
This will quite possibly be one of the most frustrating, anger inducing points of the last couple of months. Without training; gymnastics, swimming, martial arts; I have nothing to keep my mind occupied from thinking and over thinking things. I read, a lot. And this does not help. There isn’t much to do at work as I’m on top of everything.
Maybe I’ll take up knitting…
