I love my day off

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them was released on blue ray today. It’s only a movie, but I’ve been waiting for this. I’m a huge book worm. J.K. Rowling is one of my favorite authors. I love the magical world she created. Her books are so vivid and her descriptions are so detailed you feel as if you are actually there. I do like a ton of various authors, but J.K. Rowlings provides me with a chance to feel like a kid in a candy shop again.

In addition to going to the store today, The Man and I brought the mustang and the jeep in for oil changes today. Both vehicles were over due. The mechanic talked me into buying new wiper blades which was an easy sell considering all the rain we’ve been having. The mechanic also suggested that there might be some dire problem with the head gasket on the mustang but couldn’t say what exactly without closer inspection. The mustang drives perfectly fine. It does make a weird hissing sound when you shut the doors. It sounds like we have a hydraulic lift, when we don’t. The mustang is a low rider and aside from custom rims, pedals, and gear shift (all skull themed) it’s pretty much a stock car. I asked The Man if he wanted to put the car in the shop, but he doesn’t want to just yet.  He’s not a mechanic, but he’s an apprentice engineer for a company that manufactors transmissions. Plenty of mechanics at factory that would be more than willing to take the mustang for a test ride and gauge just how big a problem we’ve got. Worse case scenario is we need a new head gasket. The part itself is cheap, but the labor will be pricey. I am estimating this to be a $2,000 repair job.

While we were waiting for the cars to be done we walked over to Chick-fil-a and got some lunch. I skipped the fun stuff. I got a grilled chicken sandwich and a fruit cup. I didn’t even eat the bun. Sticking to a diet is almost painful around my husband. He’s replaced all his chemical addicitions with food. He may not gain that much weight from gorging, but I certainly do! He wants to go out on a date for dinner tomorrow night and I can safely bet that dinner will include margaritas.

Tonight is Snooch’s induction ceremony. We went to the mall yesterday and bought her a really pretty dress and… her first pair of heels! I warned her heels might be a bad choice because the stage has stairs she will have to walk up, but she is insistant that she’ll be fine. I’m bitter sweet about this whole thing. I am so proud of the intelligent, caring individual she has become, but it stings that my baby is getting so grown up.

I spent a lot of time playing with Rascal outside this afternoon. I think it is around 80 degrees outside today. I love this weather!!!
