Day 6 – 30 Days of Kindness

Today I was thinking about my Pay It Forward commitment I made to myself two years ago.  Whenever something bad happens to me, I would pay it forward to the world by doing something nice for someone else.

I’ve made donations to the food bank, clothing donations to local shelters, warm winter clothing donations for children and reconnected with a long lost cousin.  It’s been the best way for me to process and move on from situations that cause me unhappiness.

I really do encourage everyone to try it.  It’s a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

Now I’m tasked with finding a Pay It Forward to settle the closed chapter of my past 17 years.  I was going to get a tattoo on my left inner arm that says “I’m free”; it would reflect the feeling I am experiencing. I thought about donating blood; I’ve never done that before.  But so far, nothing feels like the right thing.  It has to be big, a great effort, huge, to reflect my commitment.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
