chapter five

each and everyone of us has their own addiction – sex, drugs, books, music, but none of those were as addictive as you. you – you were worse than nicotine. you had danger written all over you. your eyes screamed poison but i climbed over that gate. i drank that poison anyway. it burned when it first touched my tongue but then it became so sweet so sweet. so sweet, in fact, that i was soon addicted to it – to you. i couldn’t go a day without you – your touch, your kiss, your voice, your lips, your smile, your white lies. but soon enough you left me, alone to wither and die. everyone has an addiction.

– unfortunately you were mine
