ɡrēf/noun: grief

  1. deep sorrow, especially that caused by someone’s death.

Until now, I am not sure that we had ever really experienced what true grief was. These emotions all seem so unfamiliar. As we navigate ourselves we are left also helping our children navigate themselves. Anger, denial, Shock, Depression all in raw form. We talk till we have no more words, we fear the silence. It’s hard to imagine what the life will be like without you here. I feel unfamiliar with who I am now. That day I forever changed and I know I am someone new. No one told me grief would feel this way.
