Friday October 13th

Holy hell. I have one more day at my current school. My kids here are crazy- the afternoon ones are, but it’s not bad enough to drive me crazy. That would take a lot from kids. I’m pretty tolerant. I am about finished with the hump of dealing with this job that I am leaving- The next hump will be getting all of my shit out of the school building to my apartment. The next hump will be getting all my shit packed for the movers. The next hump will be getting the movers loaded up and out. The next hump will be getting the rental car, loading up what’s left and Sophie and driving to Kentucky. The next hump will be getting my shit out of the rental and returning it. The next hump will be buying a car. The next hump will be getting my apartment keys. The next hump will be living without my belongings for ??? until my movers arrive. The next hump will be settling in to my job and working my ass off to get my classroom up and running and my classes running. Once I reach that point, I will be golden. Until Thanksgiving, life is going to be pretty tough. Hopefully at that point I will be moved in, have a car, and some semblance of order in my classroom.

I am going to go to Chase Bank tomorrow and open my new bank account. They give you $200 for the new account AND, I need the account info to give to my new job for my direct deposit. I don’t know what to do about my current account. I don’t know how I can close it if I don’t live here any more. I’m sure I’m not the first person to need to do that. I will have to figure it out.

I can’t decide what to buy for a car. I have a few things in mind. First, I was going to get a Honda Civic like I had before, but I found out the one that I liked was a rental car. That seems like a bad idea to me. To buy a car that has been used as a rental. The other ideas I have are a Toyota Prius- there is one I like that is a little more than the Civic, but it is a hybrid- I like that. I also am thinking about getting another Volvo. There are a couple of white ones – one in Louisville and one in Lexington- I really like my blue one that I had before better. I don’t remember what my car payment was- I think maybe about $350? I’m not sure. I also kind of like the idea of an SUV. I don’t know what I should buy. Ugh. Sometimes it’s nice not to have another person to have to discuss your decisions with and just do what you want, but a lot of the time it’s really difficult to always have to make every decision with no one to even talk things over with.

Next week will be a whirlwind. I hope so much they come get my stuff either the 17th or 18th. I will be super pressed for time if they wait until the 19th. I have to get a car- that’s the most pressing issue- especially if I take care of the bank today or tomorrow.
