We woke up to a very tasty breakfast that was included in our stay at Hostel Patogonia Natique. He even fixed us scrambled eggs which is a little more difficult to find in Chile for breakfast than what you would think. Christian, the owner, gave us some good beta on some really great hiking in the area, a place called La Junta. We had met another couple at the restaraunt that we ate at for dinner last night that were going out to hike that same spot so we picked them up and gave them a ride there. The trail to get all the way into the spectacular La Junta basecamp with waterfalls and hot springs was 13km one way. With the time that we had before we had to leave and how tired we were we opted to only go to the 6.5k halfway point. This hike was all through the Cochamo Valley just beside the Cochamo river. It was very beautiful inside this gorge and reminded me of home.
When we finally made it out we were both more tired than we had expected. We made it back to the Hostel for a quick shower before we headed back out to the La Ollita restaraunt for dinner. We made it a bit of an earlier night since we knew we were heading out early to make our way back to Puerto Varas to meet up with Bio Bio on the 19th.
