Journal of a slightly neurotic graduate student

It’s been a long time since I’ve written in a journal. In fact, it’s been years. No, really, 10+ years. The last time I wrote in a journal they were still the paper and pen type. Do those even still exist? Of course they do but who wants a hand cramp?

Now that I have your attention, maybe, I go by Pelagia. I’m a graduate student who’s just trying to navigate through school for the second time. I already completed a masters program and for some reason decided to subject myself to 5 more years of hell school. How’s a graduate student supposed to maintain their physical and mental health while not failing classes, meeting manuscript deadlines, managing dissertation research, and trying to stay human by not turning into a cold academic robot? I’m not sure but hopefully I’ll figure this out the second time around!

The main purpose of this journal is to serve as an outlet for rambling, being mindful of every day experiences, and cultivating new interests. Common themes will be but are not limited to, food, science, alcohol, and traveling.

  1. Followinggg because I know I’ll be able to relate to your journal entries.

  2. I get that. I’ve been combing through journals trying to find ones I can relate to too.
