Day 4

Well, my mid-week weigh-in did not go as well as expected. Don’t get me wrong, I lost 2.6 pounds in 4 days. That is really good. But, I have a confession to make. I check the scale every day. I know I am not supposed to. I really do feel like it helps keep me on track though. If I see big losses, it keeps me motivated to continue. If I am not seeing good results, it keeps me motivated to stay on track so I can get better results. With that being said, about 2 lbs of the weight lost so far was after the first day. So, progress is steady but slow. To be fair, I was quite the couch potato Saturday and Sunday so even with eating a small amount of calories, I was not burning hardly anything. This probably help explains the minor weight loss. It also gets me excited to start being able to work out next week because I hope that would jet-set my weight loss too.

I found out today that someone in my department is doing Nutrisystem. He stated in December. It is nice to have someone understand what it is like and talk about the food choices. I still do not have cravings and I still feel full all day.

Food:

Breakfast- Baked chocolate chip bar. Definitely not horrible but not my favorite. Not overly flavorful and it is dry like the blueberry lemon baked bar yesterday. Probably would not order this one again.

AM Snack- Turboshake

Lunch- Trail Mix bar. It was good but not what I expected. It had a chocolate base but it was like a granola bar. I was hoping to have large chunks of food in the bar but there was not much. It was a good granola bar. Not a good value for a lunch item so probably would not order it again. Had two servings of vegetables with lunch.

PM Snack- Nutricurb bar.

Dinner – BBQ Seasoned Chicken. I was real nervous about this one. I got two of them in my first month (due to the turbo week plan and the error with my first order). I planned ahead and purchased wheat buns (supposed to be a roll – could not find wheat rolls). If the picture and description only said BBQ, I would not have been so nervous. But it showed chunks of green and red peppers. However, it was delicious. It reminded me of a sloppy joe. The peppers were nonexistent and the chicken was big chunks. Also, added bonus, the portion size was really good! It was so much that I had to eat it open-faced with a knife & fork because there is no way it would have fit as a sandwich. I may order it again but it is not set to come in my second order. Had two servings of vegetables with dinner.

I only have one more bar for breakfast and one more bar for lunch. But after two days of eating mostly bars, I am going to eat some of the other choices tomorrow.

  1. It definitely does not help if you do not have a good support system. But, even if you do have a support system, it still comes down to your own will power to make it happen. I suggest if you would like to start losing weight, to download an app like Myfitness pal so you can start tracking your food. At least it will help gauge how much you need to cut out in order to lose weight. Good luck! You can make it happen!

  2. i recorded my weight on a pocket calendar everyday to track my progress. but if i ate a lot and i didn’t want to know then i would skip that day and not write it down.
