I’ve been talking to this guy for a month now, we do everything couples do, we just aren’t officially dating because he says he wants to become befriends with someone before he begins a new relationship. He left his phone open one day and I saw where him and his friends were talking about me, and if literally wasn’t anything bad, but the quote “she isn’t the skinniest girl in the world, but shes super cute and so much fun to hang out with. She’s really cool man, you know I’m not shallow about all the other stuff”. Meaning my weight.. I really care about him and I want to be with him, but if we never work out in the back of my head Its always going to feel like it’s because I’m not skinny enough. He said he wants to be like best friends before he truly makes it official. Which I’m okay with, we’re basically together now, just without a label. I just can’t tell if my weight bothers him or not 🙁

  1. I wouldn’t worry TOO much about it…It’s a little weird of him to say that, but some guys aren’t into skinny people. Maybe he likes the way you look. Comment on your weight one day, see how he responds.

  2. Its kind of crappy that he even brought up your weight, but it sounds like everything else he said was very positive. It must be taken into consideration that it was a private conversation he was having w/his friend which he thought you would never see.
I have struggled in the past with not being a snooper myself. Most of the time it doesn’t end well. And in this case you are now going to have this thing about your weight in the back of your head although he said he isn’t shallow and he doesn’t care about it, but you now know he’s discussed it with his friend. Best course of action would be to forget you ever saw it and never mention it to him in my opinion.

  3. I’d worry more about how you feel about yourself. If your weight bothers the way you feel about yourself, then do something about it. If you feel confident about it, then don’t worry about it. If he likes you enough he won’t care, believe me.
