“Didn’t you tell me you’d never leave me?
You said you’d stay by my side.”
Shackled by his presence, I nodded.
I was too enamored with his aura to deny him.
He was selfish.
I felt more like his pet then anything.
It was too easy for him.
The “princess” would be back any second.
Then I can rip off these shackles and reminisce fondly.
All of his tiny mannerisms screamed for her.
I wanted to help his pride,
but I no longer saw him in the same light.
“For you,” I begin as I adjust my shackles.
The smile that kept me here, formed on his face. It wasn’t a fake smile.
He was boy, trapped in a form he could not accept.
