Paul was a stalwart educator, and encourager. His education came through the sharing of both his personal experiences and his deep knowledge of Scripture. His encouragement came through a constant reminder to hold to real faith, and not lose heart when trials come. Education and encouragement – isn’t still vital to the church today? Isn’t it still vital to families today? Isn’t it still vital to individual today? The believers of God have an unending need to absorb biblical truths, and to be diligent to not let its impact, or necessity, escape our ongoing thoughts. We need to be prepared for emotional turmoil, and spiritual battles. We need to acknowledge that temptations, internal and external, are always prompting us to oppose God’s precepts. In short, we need to be armed with biblical inspiration and instruction. And this is at the core of Paul’s letter to the church at Ephesus. May this desire be true of every believer in a modern-day Christian fellowship.
Ephesians 6:13 “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground…” (NIV)
