Quality Process

This last weekend I wrote a letter to my future self to open up after 992 days. It was on my list of 101 things to do. Writing to my future self is not something I have done before, I found it kind of inspiring thinking of all the things I hope to accomplish in such a short space of time. It was a lot easier to write than I thought it would be, the words flowed as I typed. Once done I changed the font and the colour, attached it to my work email, printed it off, sealed in a non-descript envelope and put away in a place not to be forgotten.

What struck me most about my list was the word quality. The basics are all there to work upon, develop and so bring quality whether that be working on myself, in the home, in my relationships or creatively its about nurturing what is already there with tender loving care.

  1. This is a neat thing to do. My twin sister wrote a letter to her I think it was 11 year old self. It was so, so good. She told her young self, among a lot of other things, to enjoy the time she had with our mother because soon she would be taken away. We lost our mother when we were 14 years old to lung cancer. She talked about the changes that would soon happen to her body and to be patient with finding a true love because God had someone very special that he would bring into her life. I wish I could share it here…I may ask her permission. It was cool and special for me to read because with us being identical twins it could be about me as much as it was about her.

  2. Aww, those are wise words from one so young .. I’m sorry you lost your mum during your teenage years .. Its lovely that you both have each other to support, comfort and laugh with through your individual life journeys .. Sweet blessings!

  3. It’s a very good idea to write letters to yourself. I have written diaries and read them later, but it’s not the same. Also, my dad wrote a letter for the “future me” when I was born. He gave it to me when I was fifteen and I loved it! I still keep it safe in my room and have read it many times now.

  4. Aww, I think that is an awesome thing for a parent to do and such a treasure for you to keep .. 🙂
