Blogging?

I’m going to make this a quick one.

I’ve been doing blogging research and reading in my abundant spare time (which really means 10-20 minutes here or there). Correct me if I’m wrong but there doesn’t seem to be many chronic pain blogs that really offer useful information. I often read articles on The Mighty but personal blogs seem to be a real downer! Don’t get me wrong, pain IS a real downer! But I envision my blog giving off a sense of hope? I find it important to be real, admitting when you’re having a bad day, week, etc. and IT’S OKAY TO TALK ABOUT IT! But, I don’t want to live there. I mean, I do live there lol. I’m in pain 24/7. But I want my blog to give a sense of “here’s what we can do with what we have”. I don’t want to claim anyone will lose 25lbs by following my recipes but perhaps here’s the ones I was able to conquer and how? For instance, a lot of “everyday” meals are hard for me. I have to split things up into sections. Maybe prep veggies in the morning and trim the chicken around lunchtime and by dinner I’ll have everything ready and I just have to manage to put it all together (assuming I’m still functioning by dinner time). Or I can’t get out of bed but here’s what I could do – I.e. I raised my arms up and down 10 times! In short, I want it to be about winning. Big or small. How can we adjust, how can we modify our lives, actions and movements in ways that will allow us to still live fully and get the things we want to, done. And most importantly, how do we keep our chins up?! How do we stay optimistic and hopeful and not lost in the pain (like I’ve been feeling lately). Keep in mind, this is new so I am confident there are lots of great blogs out there and I just haven’t stumbled across them (I have seen some killer ones that just aren’t pain related) but if you have ideas or blogs you love, I’d appreciate you sharing them with me!

For now, my pain  is throbbing and I need to go stretch… Or rest…Probably both!
