Frustated Faith – Pastor Jeremy Foster

copied from someone else’s notes –

Get somebody in your life to look to. They can help you look through to where God is taking you to.

  • Matthew 11:2&3
  • John’s expectations mess him up. He believes that Jesus would come in in a lot more of a dramatic fashion.
  • Jesus doesn’t want to build a physical kingdom – but a kingdom in your heart.
  • How many things don’t turn out the way that you expected them to?
  • This can create a prison of doubt.
  • God may not always live up to your expectations, but He will always live up to His word.
  • The belief that God will never give us more than we can bear is out of context with the bible.
  • You’ve got to learn to trust that God has got this, even when you don’t.
  • He may not come when you want Him to, but He will be there right on time.
  • When it doesn’t happen on your time, we can not only doubt God’s timing, but to doubt God – period.
  • Job 14:11&12
  • Jeremiah 15:18
  • 1 Kings 19:3&4
  • You cannot base your own faith on the faith of someone else.
  • Aren’t you glad that God doesn’t answer all of your prayers?
  • Whatever invisible prison you’re in – bring it to God because He is the one who can change it.
  • John wasn’t just in a prison of bars – he was in an invisible prison.
  • All of a sudden the man of great faith is questioning everything.
  • A prison perspective will always cause you to doubt your destiny.
  • Don’t judge Jesus based on someone who was supposed to represent him, and didn’t’ do it well. Jesus loves you.
  • God’s mercy endures forever. You can’t outrun it.
  • Your faith is more important than your failure.
  • Luke 22:31&32
  • Your failure cannot wipe out your future – Jesus will still use you.
  • Mark 9:23-25
  • Even when you doubt, God still shows up.
  • John 20:19-28
  • When you are locked in an invisible prison and can’t seem to get out, Jesus will always find a way in – you have to learn to trust him.
  • Sometimes it’s the fact that you hang around the right people, their faith can pray you through your doubt.
  • No matter what has been covering you up – you’ve got a Father who is always telling you “I’m coming!”
