Legacy – Pastor Jeremy Foster

Galatians 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

You have a legacy and will leave behind a legacy for your children and loved ones. Be mindful of what you teach them. Legacy is where your life lives on. You have to learn to give to something that will out live you. You give your times, your talent, your abilities. Live so that your life outlives you, live beyond yourself.

It’s not when you build everything for you, how happy you’ll be, it’s not when you climb the ladder of success of the world’s standards. It’s when you’re working with someone else to expand the kingdom of God (sharing his love and grace with others), that’s when you’ll find fullfilment.

The one way to solve all of your problems is to realize other people have them too! Your problems aren’t the biggest problems in the world.

Packaging (your body) is equally important as the contents (your soul) – it’s what is on the outside that makes others want what’s on the inside. It’s how we present Christ to other’s who are wanting to seek Him that determines what people will want to taste and see that if the Lord is good or not. (Matthew 5:14  “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden”). People aren’t rejecting Christ, they’re rejecting Christians.

We have 2 jobs as a Christ follower, parent and friend – *First is to guide them – guide them through life, coach them – a coach doesn’t always make you feel good, a coach makes you question your methods of how you’re doing something and you correct whatever it is that you shouldn’t be doing. *Second is to prepare them for eternity –
