There is a phrase used repeatedly throughout Scripture, and it is one that fascinates me: seek God’s face. Psalm 105:4 is one of many examples of this wording. So what does it mean to seek God’s face? It means to set your gaze ever before God’s throne. It means to desire His Word, and truth, with every fiber in your spiritual being. It means to not pull away mentally from heavenly wisdom. It means to patiently hold to divine decrees and reflect a holy disposition (including love, compassion, mercy, etc.). This requires dedication. It require devotion. So will we display the integrity and strength to always pursue God? Will we, as mortals, desire the immortal Word – the immortal One – the immortal Lord?
Psalm 105:4 “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.” (NIV)
