If believers are to overcome evil desires, and impulses, it must countered with good, and holy, yearnings, which are spurred and aided by the Holy Spirit. The psalmist in Psalm 119 outlines some important tools in this character quest. Treasure God’s Word. Value it. Admire it. Utilize it. Employ it. Care for it. Highly regard it. Study it. In other words, if we make God’s message the primary message we daily take in then we will find ourselves more inclined to practice love, justice, and mercy. And we will be less inclined to judge or hate. So let us place God’s Word, His amazing Word, in our heart, and forever seal it there.
Psalm 119:11 “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” (NIV)
