2 Kings 20:13, The Protective Hand Of God

How often do believers truly consider the protective hand of God? God helps us from fully engaging the evil nature, and selfish desires, of our heart, but do we praise Him for it? In other words, the Lord intervenes for our character’s sake more often than we likely admit. There are moments, however, when the Lord tests us, to help us know the full weight of our inner disposition. And God did so with King Hezekiah. When God momentarily removed His divine safeguard it revealed pride, vanity, materialism, and arrogance. The point being, when God withholds His light it unveils the darkness we all possess. Lord, please keep Your light upon us so that we may always walk in truth and humility.

2 Kings 20:13 “Hezekiah received the envoys and showed them all that was in his storehouses – the silver, the gold, the spices and fine olive oil – his armory and everything found among his treasuries. There was nothing in his palace or in his kingdom hat Hezekiah did not show them.” (NIV)
