Ezekiel 18:5-8 lists some critical qualities of people who desire to live in a righteous fashion. Such people will be noble. Fair. Spiritually pure. Full of integrity. Moral. Honest. Generous. Charitable. Sensitive. Inclusive. Dependable. Consistent. But these noble behaviors do not generate out of a need for religious performance, or conformity, but rather out of a genuine response to God’s Word (Ezekiel 18:9). Studying Scripture, and applying the transformative truths that are divinely inspired, helps produce the proper motivation. So if we want to make a mark on the world it must flow out of the fact that the Lord has made a mark on us. A mark that is binding, eternal, and true.
